Student Reflections: Lessons from Y4U 2025

As the Science Club returns to Baguio, the delegates carry home renewed inspiration, deeper cultural appreciation, and a stronger sense of purpose in promoting sustainability, scientific inquiry, and youth leadership.

Public Information Officer Anna Nicole Elizaga shared that Y4U 2025 strengthened her belief in what young people can achieve when they work together. “The event taught me that youths can also make a change for the world to be better. Our voices, ideas, and skills matter. I learned that I don’t have to do everything alone—teamwork makes challenges easier. Being a leader doesn’t mean you have to be old; as long as you have passion, courage, and a heart to serve, you can lead.”

Club Treasurer Ronnie Jr. Lang-ay highlighted the importance of cultural understanding. “I learned that other people’s cultures are really about building bridges of friendship. Despite our different foods, languages, and traditions, we all share the same hopes and dreams. When we make the effort to understand each other, we stop being strangers and start building a kinder, more united world for everyone.”

Club President Risabeth B. Bayan reflected on personal growth and leadership. “During Y4U 2025, I learned so much about myself and the people around me. Stepping out of my comfort zone made me realize how powerful it is when young people support each other and work together. Leadership isn’t about being the best; it’s about showing up, listening, and growing with others. Meeting people from different backgrounds helped me appreciate how culture brings us closer when we try to understand one another. The whole experience made me feel more confident and more willing to lead with purpose.
