The second peace museum in the United States is coming to Kingston NY
The Peace Education Center of the Hudson Valley, led by The Rev Dr Leonisa Ardizzone, will open the second peace museum in the USA in Kingston, New York. The Peace Museum & Learning Lab will open July 10th, 2026, with interactive exhibits for people of all ages to explore themes of peace, violence, human rights, consequences of war, and climate change.
At a time when division and conflict are at a high point, the Peace Museum & Learning Lab will focus on fostering the interconnectedness of all life, intercultural understanding, and communication skills. The Peace Museum & Learning Lab will also offer programming designed to increase engagement in the pressing issues of our times, including teacher education programs, youth apprenticeships, community workshops, after-school programs, vacation camps, and school field trips.
The Peace Museum & Learning Lab is the newest project of the Peace Education Center of the Hudson Valley (PECHV). The PECHV formed in 2021, started programs in 2023 with various partners in Ulster County, and is now opening a Peace Museum and Learning Lab. The mission of the Peace Education Center of the Hudson Valley is to empower individuals and organizations to create and sustain ecologically-minded, just, and peaceful communities through education.
Our Grand Opening weekend is July 10-12 at 730 Broadway in Kingston.
