DHAKA (Oct 6, 2026) — Dr. Md. Saimum Parvez, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, visited the July Uprising Memorial Museum on Tuesday afternoon. Upon his arrival, he was received by Ehasan Mahamud, Director General of the museum.
During the visit, Dr. Parvez inspected various official documents retrieved from Ganabhaban, along with evidentiary materials documenting the state-sponsored repression of political parties during the authoritarian regime. He viewed memorabilia commemorating the army officers martyred in the BDR massacre, as well as relics associated with victims of other political killings. Furthermore, he inspected items related to enforced disappearances and torture instruments utilized in secret detention facilities.
After reviewing artifacts depicting the 16 years of misrule, Dr. Parvez toured the archives, memorial items, and photographic displays documenting the July Massacre. Emphasizing the significance of preserving these historical records, he underscored the need to honor the sacrifices of those killed and injured and to convey the history of the uprising to future generations.
