On October 30 in Italy, two initiatives coincided: the global port workers’ blockade at countless ports around the world and the general strike called by USB and other grassroots unions, which filled Italian ports and squares with jubilant, witty, and peaceful demonstrators. On the sidelines of this popular celebration, there were a few minor incidents.
With this photo essay, Presenza aims to pay tribute to the thousands of peaceful, nonviolent protesters whom the mainstream media often “forgets” to mention.
