Establishment Pundits Call for a Return to “Reasonableness”
Over the course of the last 5 to 10 years there have been an array of celebrity pundits, journalists and politically oriented personalities speaking about a collective need to return to “sanity” and/or “reasonableness”. Here I’m referring to people like Thomas Friedman, Bill Maher, Ann Coulter, Sam Harris, the women on The View, David Brooks, Liz Cheney, Steven Colbert, William Kristol, Rachel Maddow and Jordan Peterson, to name just a few. All of these pundits have been expressing various versions of their shared belief that we have recently moved off course from what had previously been a sound and reasonable collective path onto a different path that isn’t sane anymore; a path that has suddenly become strewn with all sorts of monsters and monstrosities somewhere between the last 10 to 30 years, depending on which one of these establishment pundits you listen to.
Nevermind the End of History
Like all of the people mentioned above, I too am over fifty years of age and I too have felt the impact of the massive, nervous system shaking changes that have taken place in recent years. Where I’ve consistently differed with the aforementioned pundits is in my contention that history did not end in the early 1990s, as a once world renowned neoconservative thinker and best-selling author assured us it did a few weeks after Nirvana’s “Nevermind” CD was released in late 1991.(1) In other words, the apparent uptick of insanity we’ve all been feeling these last few years didn’t suddenly arise in the US and European socio-economic/political landscapes out of the blue. Nor did it pop up as a result of any particular personality, any particular political party or the ridiculous claim that the Russians and/or the Muslims made it happen. The grace period for these sorts of third rate, anti-historical analyses is over.
At this point I’d bet that somewhere between not one and very few of the people reading these words right now hasn’t gotten wind of the recently released 3.5 million page memo that sternly refutes the suggestion that anything resembling reasonableness or decency or sanity has existed in this country’s halls of power and influence for at least the last 3 decades.(2),(3) In fact, if one takes a slightly deeper look into the interconnection between those who’ve been wielding power and influence in the West and the sources of their funding over the course of these past few decades, a vast and quite unnerving historical vista opens up. A vista that illuminates the links between the explosion of wealth and privileges that have been extended to the current elite “expert” class, the Collective West’s ever-burgeoning 21st century economic crisis, the glorification and expansion of all things Israel at the potential expense of the continuation of human life on planet earth, and the culture of perpetual war (that nobody voted for) that we’ve all been enduring these past 25 years.
The City at the Heart of Darkness
Although Joseph Conrad’s zeitgeist encapsulating novel “Heart of Darkness”(1899) is often interpreted as a view into the depths of some of the darkest depravities that exist within the human psyche, it’s just as often cited as a statement about the deadly, dehumanizing effects of British/European colonialism. In relation to what this article is pointing to, both of the aforementioned interpretations are very much at play.
Over the course of the last 4 years, all of my research has led me down a particular, not very well charted river. After passing proxy war infested jungles of information, into live streams of genocide, I finally located the earthly heart of darkness a few months ago. Much to my surprise, it was a city with a familiar name, although it wasn’t the city I normally associate with that name. Everyone reading this has heard of a place called London. But how many of you have heard of The City of London? These two Londons overlap each other in one particular square mile long region of space, but they are absolutely not the same “place”. Cue Twilight Zone theme music.
The Shape Shifting British Empire
Part 2 of this article is going to illustrate the fact that the British Empire never really dissolved. Rather, it simply took a different form. This nonlocalized empiric network of mostly UK based oligarch bankers has been operating for over three quarters of a century as an international economy-controlling, war producing leach that has financially milked the US, Europe and as much of the rest of the world’s population as it has been able to ensnare in its economic ponzi scheming, debt generating web.(4),(5)
With the help of their elite, uniquely privileged servants in the upper echelons of Western politics, the military, and the now totally oligarch-owned “mainstream” media, this dehumanized, inborn, anemic network of sociopaths have been responsible for the lion’s share of the world’s misery and bloodshed during our lifetimes.(6),(7),(8)
The World’s Most Nefarious Open Secret
Interestingly, a notable portion (though certainly not all) of this multi-trillion dollar network’s unchecked activities and transaction hubs, which all operate beyond the reach of what for everyone else is common law, haven’t existed in secret. In other words, what’s being spoken of here is not theory, it’s not based on hunches or far-fetched conspiracy stories. Simply put, through their long-cultivated matrix of power wielding institutions and associates along with their unmatched access to capital, these banking oligarchs control a large portion of the world’s economic and military activity from behind the scenes.(9),(10)
Another thing that will be discussed in part 2 of this article is the fact that this system, which has existed in different forms for several centuries, is currently teetering near the edge of collapse. In fact, the system’s growing infirmity has been the true primary cause of the rumblings we’ve all been experiencing as a new sort of weirdness, as “insanity”.
