Once again, war has taken a toll on ordinary lives. The United States launched a new wave of attacks against Iran in recent days, hitting and destroying numerous civilian infrastructures and infrastructures tied to the daily life of the population. The government spokesperson’s response
Iran’s government spokesperson announced that in the attacks of recent days on the south of the country, more than 30 civilians have been killed.
Expressing condolences and solidarity with the grieving families, she said the memory of the victims would be honored and that the government would stand by the people with all its strength. In her words: “Southern Iran is the beating heart of this land; southern Iran is the soul of Iran.”
The army’s statement: escalation and threats of retaliation
The Ground Forces of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that early this morning, the US military struck the barracks and living quarters of one of the Ground Forces garrisons in Bampur with 13 missiles.
According to the statement, the aggressor forces struck the garrison’s barracks, guesthouse and guard posts. Despite the scale of the attack and the intensity of the missile strikes — carried out, the army said, with the aim of inflicting maximum human casualties — the application of passive defense principles and the measures taken made it possible to prevent a further rise in casualties.
During the attack, 7 personnel, both career and conscript soldiers of the 388th Brigade of Iranshahr, were killed, while 13 other personnel were wounded and are currently receiving medical treatment.
In its statement, the army went on to vow retaliation, describing vengeance for the blood of those killed as “certain and imminent” and declaring that a decisive response would be given “with God’s help and the support of the other armed forces.” Statements of this kind, from all sides of the conflict, illustrate how quickly the language of war moves from mourning the dead to promising more killing — a cycle that peace advocates on every side of this conflict continue to call for breaking.
Ministry of Health: over 260 Iranians wounded in new enemy attacks
Iran’s Ministry of Health announced that, in the new wave of aggression against the country, more than 260 people have been wounded so far, including 3 women and 6 people under the age of 18. According to the announcement, tragically, 2 women are also among those killed in these attacks. Of the total wounded, 222 people have already been treated and discharged.
